Smoked Salmon on Bagels FAQs:
- What type of bagel works best?
- Any of your choice – plain, everything, onion, wheat, etc. are all great options. Choose what will work best for the ingredients without overpowering the recipe.
- Can I use regular cream cheese instead of whipped?
- Absolutely! Whipped cream cheese is lighter and easier to spread, but regular cream cheese works great as well.
- Can I make this ahead of time?
- Yes – it is best you prep the whipped cream cheese so the flavors can meld. You can also prepare the red onions and dill.
- How do I store leftover ingredients?
- Place leftover smoked salmon and whipped cream cheese in separate airtight container.
Why whipped cream cheese works so well with this recipe:
Whipped cream cheese is a better way to spread on this bagel without making a huge mess, but also I wanted a more light texture to compliment the entire recipe. Whipped cream cheese is also ideal herb infusions since it absorbs garlic, herbs, and other ingredients evenly.
